In this short CNN video, we witness Katie Prager’s conscious decision to go into hospice after suffering severe complications from cystic fibrosis. Despite having a lung transplant, Katie had become so sick that she believed her battle was lost. “My body is just so tired, I can’t fight anymore.”
But her husband Dalton, who also had cystic fibrosis, died first. He had wished to transfer his hospital care to a facility near Katie’s hospice so they could be together during Katie’s last days. Sadly, Dalton, 25, passed away September 17 after a bout with pneumonia. The couple shared loving goodbyes over FaceTime.
