Columnist Janeil Whitworth, I think sums up how confusing this question is. For me, I get overwhelmed with this question. I wonder often, is that all people think when they think of me, my health? But, at the same time, I’d also prefer they ask about my health, because it’s a recognition of this massive thing I have going on in my life that often goes unnoticed. At the same time. How do I answer this question genuinely, without feeling overwhelmed and going over the top.
Often times, it’s complex to respond. There’s a million things going on, and nothing is necessarily bad or good. But, it piles.
My anxiety is through the roof and so is my sadness. My friend passed away, she also had CF. But, my other friend got new lungs. I’m a wreck when it comes to work, and I also haven’t worked out which makes me question my abilities and my commitment to my lungs.
So I often opt for, I don’t know, I’m good how’re you?
