This is a topic that I’ve been exploring a lot lately, as I am writing a piece from interviews with lung transplant recipients. I don’t think I could ever understand fully how beautiful the gift of life is, but as a bystander with a chronic illness that could render me needing transplant. It hits hard, I think the concept of someone dying so that you can live. There are now words.
For a while, I was adamant that I would not go through transplant, but as I’ve gotten older and should my lungs lead me that way, I am more open to the idea.

    1. Does transplant scare you, or have you thought of it much?
    2. Is there anything in particular about transplant that blows your mind?
    3. Are you a transplant recipient?
