Hi Bailey, yes it is kinda a crazy story and I’m so glad I’m not the only one out there that has been late diagnosed. I believe there are many more adults out there with chronic lung disease that probably also have one or more CF genes/mutations but genetic testing is still not wide spread and can be expensive. It’s me that has CF. I was diagnosed 5 years ago after living with chronic lung disease since the age of 25(now 53 years old) I lost my middle lobe of my lung at age 25 due to a significant bleed and had the usual CF screening but at that time it came back negative.
