In this Boomer Esiason Foundation video, meet Sabrina Walker. The 30-year-old from Anchorage, Alaska, has cystic fibrosis — but it isn’t the only health issue she’s dealt with.
In her senior year of high school, Sabrina was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Despite a complex treatment plan of chemotherapy for the lymphoma, followed by antibiotics for subsequent pneumonia, Sabrina beat cancer and has been in remission for 10 years.
Using running as a way to control her cystic fibrosis, Sabrina is a firm believer in self-advocacy and staying positive. She inherited her determination from her parents who encouraged her from a young age to participate in sports rather than use cystic fibrosis as an excuse to sit on the sideline.
