April is a dance-maker, performer, teaching artist, writer, and artivist. She is originally from the Timucuan/Seminole territory in the South (known as Jax, FL), and currently lives on Canarsie/Lenape Indigenous lands (known as Brooklyn, NY) with her beautiful wife, Raven, and their dog and two cats. Each August 15th since 2004, she celebrates her double lung transplant anniversary.
April directs both her dance company, Biggs & Co., and The Biggs Writing Collective, and is engaged in various anti-racist, anti-ableist, and intersectional committees for equity. She holds a BFA in Dance from FSU, an MFA in Dance from OSU, and an MFA in Poetry from The New School. Throughout her lifetime, she has been active in CF events as a participant, speaker, and facilitator, and is proud to be a survivor.
