Aimee Lecointre replied to the topic End of year reflection in the forum Diagnosis Information and General Questions 3 months ago
I’m thankful I was able to surprise my little cousins in Disneyland, thankful for grant funding, doctors who listen, and ending the year with good health.
In January I’m starting pottery classes, which I’ve wanted to to do for years! And I’m also taking a virtual cake class. Plus lots of fun things coming to my journaling program. I just want to…[Read more]

Aimee Lecointre replied to the topic Who can share your story? in the forum Adults With Cystic Fibrosis 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I’m pretty open about my health and experiences but I only share my experiences. I know my parents and other family are affected by my health but I’d strongly to prefer their experiences and how they are affected rather than sharing my story, if that makes sense

I go for fashionably comfortable! I’m not about to wear jean or other ‘hard pants’ during an admission but I do like to feel somewhat out together. My go to lately is pajama sets with matching joggers and T-shirts from Lates by Kate. Pricey but worth it for me. I stick with my skincare routine but no makeup.
I also like to be comfortable for…[Read more]

Aimee Lecointre replied to the topic Has Trikafta improved GI symptoms for you? in the forum Adults With Cystic Fibrosis 1 year, 4 months ago
Trikafta actually made my GI issues quite worse. I was never able to change my enzyme dosage and many of my symptoms got worse or were more active. However, I didn’t fully realize this impact until coming off of Trikafta (because the mental health side effects). Things have definitely improved with my GI situation since stopping Tri thankfully.

Aimee Lecointre replied to the topic Heading into Fall… in the forum Adults With Cystic Fibrosis 1 year, 7 months ago
I am soooo dang excited about fall!
This summer has been particularly hot and smoky and I’m ready for cooler weather and hopefully some cleaner air before the winter inversion hits.
we are hoping to go to the zoo (during a private event which means limited people, yay!), explore Red Butte gardens while it’s a bit cooler, and maybe do a lit…[Read more]

Aimee Lecointre replied to the topic Sick Kid Camps and Sleepovers… What Do You Remember? in the forum Adults With Cystic Fibrosis 1 year, 8 months ago
I actually grew up going to CF camp in the summer! It was a week long, and obviously before anyone realized the risks of cross infection. It’s one of my favorite memories and I was devastated when it all ended, though I understood why. Since it was CF camp I was on top of all my treatments and meds, it was part of the ‘schedule’. While I was respo…[Read more]

Aimee Lecointre replied to the topic Hot Topic…. It's Really Hot Outside in the forum Adults With Cystic Fibrosis 1 year, 8 months ago
I love the taste of Hawaiian style shaved ice, soft serve ice cream cones, a cold crunchy pickle or a cold Topo Chico.
I love the smell of the forest and lake water, but my favorite smell is probably rain on hot cement. However, I haven’t been able to really smell anything for years, so this is based of memory!

Aimee Lecointre replied to the topic Realistic Morning Routines versus Ideal in the forum Adults With Cystic Fibrosis 1 year, 9 months ago
My morning routine sometimes varies a bit day to day, but it’s something that’s important to me and makes me feel grounded at the start of the day.
1. Get up and pee then take the dog out.
2. Water, coffee, morning meds and treatments.
3. Journal, meditation, then breakfast.
