I have had a picc line several times when I go into the hospital for CF issues. It is easy for IVs and to do blood draws because I get a double picc line and it is also helpful if you need to continue treatment at home. There are some things you have to take care of with your picc line at home when you give yourself medication, but you will have a home nurse explain and show you all the details for home care

When I met my future wife I was upfront with her because I wanted her to be informed and that she could make her own choice to walk with me down that path or choose another path. Either way, I was not going to judge her. We have now been married for 20 years and she has stood by my side all the way. I am thankful to God every day for the love and support she shows me. She truly is my Angel.

My wife and I both have had COVID and she had the shot and I did not. I was positive for two days and she was positive for a week. My symptoms were very mild and hers were more pronounced. Thankfully all is well now and this was the start of last year. We both wore masks during the onset of COVID but now we don’t. Neither of us has been sick sense. She has had the second shot now and I have not. My doctor on my CF Team encouraged me to get the jab but even he had resviorations about taking the jab, but something inside of me kept telling me no and that I would be alright.

I just had my 69th birthday on 12/29 and I feel great aside from the usual aches and pains. Still working and still living. God’s plan for me is still ongoing because he hasn’t called me home yet. I do look forward to each day as a Blessing and CF is part of that Blessing. It has changed me and brought me closer to my faith and so I do delight in getting older each and everyday.

I never knew that I had CF until I was 40 yrs old. I had always had problems with asthma and pneumonia all through my life but never in my wildest dreams did I think I had CF. I found out on a visit to the VA Hospital for a checkup and my doctor at the time walked into the exam room and heard me cough and right away he said that he thought that I had CF and ask if he could draw some blood and send to the Mayo Clinic, I agreed and a few weeks later the results came back confirmed. I am now 68yrs old and managing my CF with an outstanding CF Care Team. I take it day by day and live life the best that I can and thank God for every day.
