CF Foundation Logo to Make 2nd NASCAR Appearance on July 4th

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, otherwise known as NASCAR, is hosting a race this Saturday to celebrate July 4th at the Chicago Speedway. Millions of fans will be tuned in, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is set to make a nationwide statement through ARRIS-backed NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez, whose #18 car will proudly sport the Foundation’s logo. This is the second time the CFF logo will be making an appearance on a NASCAR track. The first time was on driver Carl Edwards’ #19 car during last month’s Sprint All-Star Race in North Carolina’s Charlotte Motor Speedway.

American telecommunications equipment manufacturing company ARRIS is the force behind these efforts to boost awareness of cystic fibrosis through NASCAR events. The daughter of Ron Coppock, the company’s President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, was diagnosed with the disease when she was only 4 years old. Today, Caitlin is 24 and a source of philanthropic inspiration for the company, as well as a model of how much biomedical research has achieved in battling this fatal condition.

“Awareness is the road to finding a cure,” Coppock said. “The more people who know about cystic fibrosis, the sooner we’ll get there. NASCAR is spreading the word.”

Aside from being one of the foundation’s most active Corporate Supporters, ARRIS is also supporting the CFF’s biggest nationwide fundraising events, Great Strides. The Great Strides event is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising effort, with more than 125,000 people participating in hundreds of walks across the country to raise funds for cystic fibrosis research and drug development. Walks are held at nearly 600 locations nationwide and are open to the public. Great Strides provides a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, students, co-workers and colleagues to come together in support of a worthy cause. According to the CFF, organization has raised and invested hundreds of millions of dollars to support the development of new CF drugs and therapies through Great Strides.
