Columnist Reflects on Overcoming Death and Second Chances
Hey everyone! Hope you all had a safe and relaxing holiday weekend.
Check out Brad’s latest column here. This is a great and moving piece about gleaning lessons from death. Brad reflects on almost dying before his transplant, and how he’s grown from this experience.
This passage sticks out to me: “While death isn’t romantic, it can be peaceful. In my time, I’ve known many who have passed — they’re either ready or they’re not. I wasn’t yet ready. I was ugly and bitter in my death, outraged by the unfairness of this world.
Somehow, I survived.
The paradox of death is that it teaches you how to live. The tragedy of death is not everyone gets a chance to apply what they’ve learned.”
Do you have any takeaways from this column? Can you relate to this notion of gleaning lessons from death?
