Grieving loss has been a major part of my life, especially with the losses I’ve experienced in the CF community. My grieving process has taken many forms, and not all of them have been healthy. Depending on the person I’ve lost, I find myself grieving differently each time. Recently, I’ve focused on a few methods that have really helped me heal. I talk regularly with a therapist, which has been incredibly grounding, and I also journal to sort through my emotions and process the loss. Group therapy, though, has probably had the biggest impact on me. Being able to talk with others who understand the pain of loss, especially in the CF community, has made me feel supported and less alone. If anyone else is seeking that kind of support, CFRI hosts a grief support group for people who’ve lost someone with CF. It’s held on the 4th Wednesday of every month, and here’s the link for more info: [https://www.cfri.org/education-support/psychosocial-support-programs/]
