• The Early Days of Parenthood

In adulthood, it’s occurred to me just how scary the early days of parenthood was for my parents, especially in the ’90s. I can’t fully imagine what was going through their mind.

    1. For parents of young children with CF, what were some of your first thoughts once your child was diagnosed? Had you heard of it?
    2. Did you feel comforted by the care team immediately upon diagnosis? Why or why not?
    3. What are some things you wish to say to parents that will be going through this process in the future?

I imagine parenting is scary; it can be even scarier when things don’t “go along as planned.” This forum could be a helpful place for parents to discuss their fears and struggles as well as a welcome place for support.
