Tré LaRosa has cystic fibrosis, and so did his sister Alyssa, who passed away after receiving a double lung transplant. Growing up, Tré and Alyssa’s parents worked hard to reduce cross-infection risks and keep the kids together.

Tré says that looking back, especially since his sister’s death, he has grown in his appreciation of the way his parents fostered a strong relationship between himself and his sister, because it was an irreplaceable bond that he continues to miss to this day. Read more from Tré here.

Can you relate to Tré’s experience? If you’re a sibling of someone with CF, even if you don’t have it yourself, how has the disease impacted your relationship with them?
