Tarpon Cellars Uses Wine Sales to Help CF Foundation

Through a new partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), California-based winery Tarpon Cellars will donate $1 to the organization’s Georgia chapter for each bottle of wine sold.

The funds will help support research and treatment development for cystic fibrosis (CF), an inheritable progressive disorder that affects more than 70,000 individuals globally, including some 30,000 U.S. residents.

Since its 2017 founding in California’s Napa Valley, Tarpon has donated more than $2,000 to CFF.

“As an entrepreneur, I feel that I have a responsibility to give back,”Jeremy Carter, Tarpon Cellars founder and winemaker, said in a press release.

“Wine can be a hedonistic industry but I wanted our customers to feel good about buying our wines by knowing they are contributing to an incredible organization that is making real progress,” Carter added.

Proceeds will be donated via Grayton’s Guardians, a Georgia-based fundraising team that supports the Foundation largely through Great Strides Walk, the CFF’s largest national fundraising event.

Grayton’s Guardians is led by JB and Melissa Pinkston, whose young son Grayton was diagnosed with CF in 2015. It was established by Pinkston family friends, including Carter, who even before the Tarpon partnership supported CFF through events and fundraisers.

“The ongoing support from Tarpon Cellars not only impacts the future for my son, but also the tens of thousands of people who are affected by this disease across the country,” Melissa Pinkston said. “People can feel good about their purchase every time they enjoy a bottle of Tarpon Cellars wine.”
