According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, It is vital to ensuring and maintaining health insurance coverage for people with cystic fibrosis. Health insurance can be complicated and expensive, but the CFF helps CF’ers manage their plan, make the most of coverage and find ways to pay for treatments.
There are 3 main types of health insurance plans:
- PPO: Preferred Provider Organization (fee-for-service)
- HMO: Health Maintenance Organization (managed care)
- High-Deductible Plans with a Health Savings Account (HSA)
