Mom Attacked by Trolls After Posting Video of Baby’s CF Therapy

In this BBC report, a mom from Dudley, England says she fell under harsh criticism from online trolls after she posted a video of her 15-month-old daughter Daisy undergoing the vital physiotherapy needed to help clear mucus out of her chest due to cystic fibrosis.

Sam Carrier posted the video on her Facebook page with the hopes of raising awareness of the disease. While most of the comments she received were supportive and positive, there were also some from people who clearly didn’t understand that Sam was doing her best for her baby and accused her of child abuse.

While some posters were obviously well-meaning, it did highlight how little is known about the disease and the daily exercises cystic fibrosis patients need to undergo for the sake of their health. Many posters were concerned that the rigorous chest cupping would hurt Daisy even though Carrier explained that the procedure didn’t hurt and that she’d been trained by the hospital exactly how to do it. In fact,Daisy often smiled or fell asleep during the exercises.

Sadly, there were a few ignorant people who took the opportunity to troll the mom, including one person who posted a death wish to her and her daughter. Thankfully, Carrier chose to ignore the trolls and is glad the video has got people talking and raising awareness of cystic fibrosis.
