How to Stay Healthy at College When You Have Cystic Fibrosis
In this Hannah Breathes YouTube video, Cystic Fibrosis News Today columnist Hannah Buck talks about her time at college and explains how her cystic fibrosis worsened when she left home. It got so bad that she ended up in the hospital several times during her first year.
Hannah offers other CFers who are heading to college some advice to help them avoid some of the pitfalls she fell into. She recommends that students try to plan their courses (where possible) so they have classes later in the morning, which gives them more time to do their airway clearance routine, eat breakfast, take meds and to get enough sleep.
She also recommends always carrying around your enzymes with you and keeping your living space as clean as possible to minimize dust and bacteria.
