The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a leading supporter of research funding for new cystic fibrosis (CF) treatments with the goal of finding a cure, announced the appointment of Marc Ginsky as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Ginsky will report to the organization’s president and chief executive officer, Dr. Preston W. Campbell III, and his work will focus on the foundation’s day-to-day operations, field management, information technology, and infrastructure.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Marc to our team and have him join us in our fight against cystic fibrosis,” said Dr. Campbell in a press release. “Marc brings significant expertise in health care with almost two decades of experience and will be an extremely valuable addition to our team. He shares a passion for our mission and will make major contributions across the organization, helping to ensure that serving people with CF and their families is at the heart of everything we do.”

Ginsky completed his undergraduate studies in accounting and finance at the State University of New York, Buffalo School of Management, and went on to earn an M.B.A. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School. His experience in the healthcare industry spans more than 18 years, with a focus on expanding patient access to life-changing treatments.

Previously, he served as vice president and general manager of the Market Access Services division of Covance, a contract research organization supporting clinical trials and market access. Ginsky’s background also involves legal work, and he was part of Covance’s legal department from 1998 to 2006. Before working at Covance, Mr. Ginsky was a corporate attorney in private practice for 10 years.

“I’m honored to become part of the CF Foundation — an organization that has had an unmatched impact on the lives of people with CF and their families,” Ginsky said. “I have been so impressed by the progress that has been made in the fight against cystic fibrosis, thanks to the Foundation’s efforts, and the deep connections the organization has with its supporters. I’m eager to put my background to good use on behalf of people with CF and the entire CF community.”
