Two months and 13,456 miles after TV and radio host Riki Rachtman committed to a solo motorcycle journey through all 48 contiguous states, the TV and radio host has completed his goal:, to raise funds for Claire’s Place Foundation, a nonprofit working with children and families touched by cystic fibrosis (CF).

Rachtman reached his objective without any assistance, chase vehicle or predefined route. His journey was mostly based on suggestions from Facebook and Twitter followers, and he wrote a blog diary entry almost every day, which can be accessed here.

In the end, Rachtman raised $20,000 for his campaign, called “Riki’s Ride 2017.” Sponsors like Law Tigers, Hot Leathers, Death Wish Coffee and Indian Motorcycle helped him, as did many individuals. On Oct. 5 at 6 p.m., Rachtman will host Claire Wineland, the founder of Claire’s Place Foundation, on his live show RikisRide17.

The episode will air on Zinna.tv and rikisride.com, according to a press release. The next day, Oct. 6, in Marina del Rey, California, Rachtman will present Wineland with a check for her foundation.

Rachtman is also auctioning a hand-painted PRS guitar, which was customized by RonzWorld Guitars and signed by members of Papa Roach, Volbeat, Lamb of God and other bands, to raise more funds. The auction is now at $1,125 and will end Sept. 23.

Wineland, a lifelong CF patient, started the foundation after a near-death experience in the hospital at age 13, when an infection following minor surgery spread throughout her body, sending her into complete lung failure. Following her recovery, she decided she wanted to help other families living with CF.

In addition to her foundation, Wineland is an activist and inspirational speaker. Her YouTube channel — which contains talks about what it’s like to be in a coma, life expectancy with CF and other topics, can be viewed by clicking this link,
