CF Patient Reveals Her Struggles With Depression and Anxiety

In this video from Ashley’s Roses, Ashley talks about the emotional and mental aspects of having cystic fibrosis. She explains that people look at her and think that she’s a happy and positive person, but the truth is that she’s struggled with anxiety and depression since 2015, made worse each time she has to visit the hospital.

Ashley talks candidly about how dealing with her cystic fibrosis has brought about mental health issues and that she suffers from flashbacks and depression.  As well as concern for her own health, Ashley has friends with cystic fibrosis who she cares deeply about and worries about. The anxiety she experienced made her withdraw from her family and friends and she became isolated at a time when she most needed to reach out to other people.
