In this video from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 31-year-old Jenny Stump talks about being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of 16. She shares how much her life with the disease has changed since she gave birth to her son, Henry.

Jenny admits that she put her own health on the back burner while she cared for her son, something that she came to regret as her lung function declined. She reached out to friends and family for help and managed to get her own health back on track while still being able to dedicate time to her family.

She recognizes that raising babies and toddlers is hard work for people with cystic fibrosis, but with support from loved ones it’s possible to be a successful and healthy parent.
