CF Foundation Launches Video Series About Staying Fit
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has launched a series of videos aimed at helping cystic fibrosis patients get fit. The videos are aimed at different age groups and look at age-appropriate ways for patients to exercise and build their strength.
This first video from the series is called “Staying Fit with Cystic Fibrosis: Exercise Your Future” and features Seneca Wallace. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback helps to explain why it’s “never too early to start an exercise program” for children who have CF.
The second video in the series is called “Staying Fit with Cystic Fibrosis: Toddler and Preschoolers” and looks at ways to make exercise fun for small children. Building strength and flexibility is essential for kids and there are many ways they can do that naturally through regular play. The video also shows some physical therapy techniques aimed at older children to increase core strength.
In the third video, “Staying Fit with Cystic Fibrosis: The Pull Up,” the physical trainer demonstrates various activities aimed at building body and aerobic strength for older children and adults.
The final video of the series is called “Staying Fit with Cystic Fibrosis: Wrap It Up!” In this video, Dr. Gibson explains that exercise is vital for cystic fibrosis patients as it slows down the rate of lung function decline.
