4-Year-Old Boy With CF Leads Community in Fundraising Event

Four-year-old Simon Bazouni may have a rare form of cystic fibrosis, but that didn’t stop him from leading his community in a fundraising event for a local children’s hospital and cystic fibrosis charity.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Simon and his classmates held a walk-a-thon at their pre-school in connection with the 65K for 65 Roses walk in New South Wales. In total, the event raised more than AUS $60,000 (including AUS $1,500 from Simon’s class!) for Cystic Fibrosis NSW and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Simon was born with a rare form of the disease which means that conventional cystic fibrosis medications don’t work for him. He manages his condition with daily physiotherapy for chest clearance and other medications.
