“Fault in Our Stars” Couple’s Last Decision

In this short CNN video, we witness Katie Prager’s conscious decision to go into hospice after suffering severe complications from cystic fibrosis.  Despite having a lung transplant, Katie had become so sick that she believed her battle was lost. “My body is just so tired, I can’t fight anymore.”

But her husband Dalton, who also had cystic fibrosis, died first. He had wished to transfer his hospital care to a facility near Katie’s hospice so they could be together during Katie’s last days. Sadly, Dalton, 25, passed away September 17 after a bout with pneumonia. The couple shared loving goodbyes over FaceTime.
