Emily Bonney from Blackpool, England was eight when she was first diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Despite having to take 60 tablets a day to manage the chronic lung disease, she hasn’t let her condition get in the way of becoming a cheerleader.

Find out how one cystic fibrosis student advises others to stay healthy at college.

According to the Daily Mail, the 18-year-old student needs to perform airway clearance and physiotherapy twice a day and have IV treatment every three months but she still manages to train for eight hours a week with her cheerleading squad, the Airborn Nitros. Emily also found out that she has been chosen to represent England in the upcoming cheerleading world championship.

As well as suffering from cystic fibrosis, Emily also has liver disease, a sinus disease, and CF-related diabetes but she tries not to let her health issues get in the way of pursuing her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse.
