• CF, arthritis, and chronic pain

It’s not unusual to deal with chronic pain, or random pains and aches, and even arthritis when having CF. For me, I will get arthritic flare ups (particularly in my hands) every once in a while. However, I posed this question to our CF News Today Instagram and I got a wide variety of responses, and I’ll include some here:

    – As people have gotten older, joint pain and chronic pain often gets worse
    – CFRA (cystic fibrosis related arthritis) is a thing, which I didn’t know
    – Some people have responded saying that they have chronic neck/back/shoulder pain from years of coughing
    – Around their menstrual cycle, women have responded a correlation of pain there
    – Pushing too hard or overexertion for some people have/result in pain and joint pain
    – Weather affects some people, particularly cold weather
    – CF arthropathy
    – Periods of lower lung function have correlated with pain

Do you feel like you have had issues with chronic pain as a result of CF? How has your care team approached it?
