• “Clinic Jitters”

CF clinic days are, in a word, exhausting.

They’re long and sometimes incredibly difficult. For me, they also include 5 hours of travel time (round-trip). There’s always pressure to do well; sometimes it’s self-imposed and sometimes it’s unintentional pressure from loved ones. And, let’s be honest, a LOT of bad news has been delivered in a clinic setting.

All of this can lead to anxiety and what I like to call “clinic jitters.” And I’ve currently got a bad case of them! Today is my first post-Trikafta clinic visit. While that’s very exciting, it’s also nerve-wracking because I have no idea what to expect!

Do you get clinic jitters? How do you prepare for clinic or calm your pre-clinic nerves?
