• Medical burnout?

Posted by William on March 21, 2024 at 1:16 pm

Every day, those of us with CF are required to do physical treatments and take medicine that just keeps us alive. Speaking for myself, I do most of these things in such a routine that it’s almost a mindless activity. However, there are days when I just do not have the energy or strength to do all of what I need to do.

Do you ever feel burnout from all of your medical tasks? If so, how do you manage?

I do not have CF myself, but my spouse does, and I am their CF caregiver. Needless to say, managing a household requires quite a bit of managing both of our routines, and we work closely together to ensure that all medication regimens, physical therapy and breathing treatments, and doctor’s appointments are held to daily and that our plans are worked out carefully and thoughtfully with these responsibilities considered.

Scheduling is a really important part of living with a disease like CF. It’s weird to say it’s underappreciated but it is.
