Hello forum friends! I’ve been out of town and away from the forum for a while, but wanted to share these recent Monday Shoutouts. These are posted weekly on CF News Today’s Instagram page and shared here for our forum members to see as well.

Shout Out to Larry Brian King, Bodybuilder, Motivational Vlogger And CF Patient

@LarryBrianKing was diagnosed with CF when he was only 6 weeks old. At that time his family was told his life expectancy was 16 years old. Despite being told this by doctors, teased by peers, and protected by family, Brian progressively managed his CF, but never allowed it to define him or be at the forefront of his mind. He played sports throughout childhood and never had sick days until college when his health declined so much he was forced to quit without a degree.⠀

As he progressed to adulthood, Larry refused to conform to the limitations of CF, and instead launched a series of social networks — with his YouTube channel at the center of the effort — to show the world what it looks like to be young, active and living with CF. ⠀

Very quickly, Larry racked up hundreds of views on his videos, many of which chronicle his struggle with CF, use of acupuncture, sinus surgery, and workout and nutrition. ⠀

Now, many years later, Larry says his only reget is not launching his vlog earlier, because he can see how helpful it has been for others to watch his story. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BrianKingMedia

Shout Out to Andrew Simmons, Professional Wrestler with CF

Andrew Simmons, best known as Andy Boy Simmonz, is a British professional wrestler with CF. Andy decided early in life not to let his diagnosis defeat him and pursued a career as a wrestler. His wins included the Italian Tag Team title with James Tighe, the FWA British Tag Team title with Duke of Danger, the NCW European title, and the CWC All In title. ⠀

Andy has experienced many challenges over his lifetime, and even considered leaving wrestling after an injury, but he doesn’t give up without a fight. That’s why we love his story. ⠀
