CARSTAR CFF recognition

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) recognized CARSTAR — the largest franchise network of auto body repair service in North America — as one of its National Corporate Champions of the year for raising more than $100,000 toward cystic fibrosis (CF) research and care.

CARSTAR also received the Rising Star Award from CFF for its increased participation and generous contribution to support the foundation’s mission to find a cure for CF and spread awareness about the disease.

The CFF recognized CARSTAR at the 16th annual Volunteer Leadership Conference held recently in San Diego, California.

“When our franchise owners hear about this recognition, they will know that they are a part of something that is much bigger than themselves, their families, or the CARSTAR stores that they own,” Sean Peters said in a press release. Peters is director of the Driven Brands Charitable Foundation at CARSTAR.

The CFF’s National Corporate Champions are named annually to recognize corporations that have contributed at least $100,000 per year in support of the foundation through sponsorships and employee and customer engagement efforts.

The foundation’s largest fundraising initiative — Great Strides — offers individuals, groups, and corporations the opportunity to spread awareness about CF and raise funds to support CF research. CARSTAR joined Great Strides as a National Corporate Team in 2018. Since then, it has participated in events across the country, hosted fundraisers such as golf tournaments, and sponsored walks.

At CARSTAR, every June is recognized as “Shine Month.” Throughout the month, the company hosts several events, including barbecues, golf tournaments, wing nights, and car washes to support the foundation.

Through their participation in the Great Strides program and Shine Month events, CARSTAR raised more than $100,000 in its first year of fundraising for CFF.

The Volunteer Leadership Conference is held annually to inform the community about any medical and scientific updates, hear volunteer stories, and plan for the upcoming year.

“It was so empowering hearing the stories of those affected by CF and being around other likeminded companies who are passionate about this cause,” said Hanna Ross, senior director of marketing at CARSTAR, who attended the event to accept the Rising Star Award on behalf of the company.

Even before joining the Great Strides program, CARSTAR, its vendors, franchises, friends, and family were actively involved with the CF community. Over the past two decades, the company has contributed more than $3 million to support CF research and care.
