Sick while working
As my excellent colleague and co-moderator @luisa-palazola pointed out in another topic a few days ago, our worth can be inextricably linked to how productive we are despite our CF. Another aspect of this is if our employers still pay us if we have to call in sick. On top of ALL of this, working or being active can help us feel better and fight our infections more quickly. For me, I want to be at work for the most part, so I try to push through even if it isn’t always recommended.
1. Sometimes my sinus infections very similarly mimic contagious colds from the outside perspective. That means I have to navigate telling my coworkers “Uh it’s a CF infection, not something contagious.” How do you navigate these complicated issues?
2. If you are open about having CF – are your colleagues understanding of it?
