  • Treatment Distractions… When Do You Go Rogue?

Yesterday I wrote briefly about my 11-year-old and her advice for parents with illness, but by this morning, I was already mad at her. I asked her to do one thing (“one thing!”) and she forgot and broke the one thing (“one dang thing!”) within 30 minutes time.

She means well, always, but keeping a rule or request in mind is something she struggles with enormously. She gets distracted by one small thing and BAM… forgets everything else almost instantly.

So here’s my question for you today, adult friends:

What is the #1 thing to distract you from your treatments?

I feel like we all have our Achilles heel. The thing we’d gladly go “Whoops, didn’t need that 10 AM treatment anyways. I’ll do it later. Totally”…. What’s yours?

Mine is simple: rest. The thing I’m mostly likely to skip treatments for is… well, laying down. Sometimes, if I’m really sick or tired, I’d do anything rather than sit up for hours and clench my jaw and do the whole huff-and-puff. What about you?
